With this 2D sensor it is possible to measure the position of an object ( X and Y-coordinates). The sensor resolution is 2592 x 1944 with a sub-pixel resolution of about 1/5 .. 1/10 pixel. This means, the sensor has a practical resolution of 13000 x 10000 or better. So it is possible to determine the position of an object in a 5m x 4m area with 0.2mm.
The object (for example a robot) has a very bright 1Watt LED. The coordinates are sent back by an infrared LED.
